How to create a new event

 

Insert the Event Sign-up macro

A new event can be created by adding the Event Sign-up macro to your content, such as a Confluence page or blog post.

The macro can be found in two ways:

  1. Type /event in your page and select the macro from the list of available options:

  2. Click on the Insert elements image-20240816-021452.png menu, type ‘event' into the search box and select the macro from the list of available options:

Configuration options


Once the macro is inserted, you can click on the pencil image-20240816-021727.png icon to edit the macro and adjust some of the options for the event.

The following configuration options are available:

Purpose

Purpose

Event Title

Specify the name of the event, which will appear as a heading on the macro. If this is left blank, the heading will display “new event”.

Maximum Attendees

Specify the maximum number of attendees for the event. If specified, the value must be positive number. If this is left blank, there is no restriction on the number of attendees for the event beyond the Limitations and known isuses | Limitations.

Attend button text

Customise the text on the button that is used to sign-up for the event. If this is left blank, the button will display “Attend”.

Allow Comments

If selected, users attending the event will be able to submit a short text field alongside their registration. This can be used to capture additional information about their attendance.
